What Dress To Wear During Informal Beach Weddings

One of the great things about an informal beach wedding is that they are more laid-back than weddings held at say, churches and other venues. Because of that, you can practically wear anything as long as it is comfortable and fits the occasion.

However, if you’re invited to a beach wedding and don’t exactly know what to wear, we hope that the few tips below would help you decide.

Feel Comfortable, Look Elegant

The keys to a good casual beach wedding dress are comfort and elegance. Comfort, of course, is a requirement in everything that we wear, from the way we feel when we wear it (e.g. it fits just right, not too tight) to the way we feel when we look at ourselves wearing it (e.g. do I look good wearing these clothes?). It becomes even more important when we attend a beach wedding. This type of wedding is typically done outdoors during the day. Because of that, you should wear clothes made of breathable materials to keep you cool even when you’re under the sun.

But aside from being comfortable, you should also look elegant in the clothes you wear. Understated elegance is better in informal situations, so a simple flowery dress may do. The key here is to look fantastic for less. No extravagant clothing, no overblown jewelry.

Keep It Colorful

When you think of the beach, some of the things that come to your mind most likely include the blue sea, the golden white sand beaches and the greens of palm trees. Everything in the beach is about color, and they are not only just colors, they are lively ones.

So if you’re attending a beach wedding, a colourful dress will suit you well. Bright colors are preferred over dull ones, so it’s better to wear yellow than gray in a beach setting. Don’t make it too bright though unless you want to attract unwanted attention.

Show Those Nice Feet

As for your footwear, a pair of flip flops or sandals will do. Be careful in your choice of footwear though. As mentioned earlier, remember to keep your outfit not only casual but also elegant at the same.
